Dr Daniel EzekielFamily Physician Vancouver, BC As a family physician practicing in the Greater Vancouver, I have looked after many patients whose health is at risk because of their eating habits, some even with so-called "metabolic syndrome." That is, any combination of hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity. Although medications are sometimes useful and often necessary for these conditions, maintaining a proper lifestyle including diet and exercise are the keys to long-term success. When it comes to changing patients' eating habits, there is only one person who I trust with the job, and that is Ramona Josephson. She is bright, enthusiastic, and motivational, and my patients are grateful to me for getting her involved in their care. And then there are the results, which are often good enough to allow me to reduce, or sometimes even eliminate, the medications previously prescribed. Ramona's strategy is to get patients to lose weight slowly, in a healthy way, without fad diets. This means patients learn techniques to choose and prepare food that allow patients to really take control of their eating habits for good. |
