“In the summer of 2002 I discovered my cholesterol was high enough to put me at risk for heart disease. This was my wake up call. Earlier that year my 88 year old mother had passed away after years of struggling with heart and arterial disease. I made a firm decision give my own daughter the gift my mother had given me, of having me in her life well into middle age.

My doctor referred me to Ramona Josephson. Since our first visit, I’ve never looked back. Ramona’s approach was so logical, so sensible, so undeniably workable. She didn’t hand me a diet to follow. She looked at how I was eating already and educated me as to choices that would and DID make a difference. She was positive, respectful, supportive, and sent me out the door with a determination that was unshakable.Weight loss (20 lbs to date) has been slow, steady, virtually effortless, and I do not doubt a life long habit.

I thoroughly enjoy having a body I love rather than covering it up with a coat of shame. When I sang at the Orpheum yesterday and strode across the stage in my strong, healthy, lean(ish) body, in clothes that fit, it was an empowering, wonderful feeling.

But more important, I feel like I have been able to change the course of my health. Within a few months, my cholesterol levels are now down in the normal range.

I’m stronger and have more energy than I’ve ever had in my adult years. I’m 52. It’s about time.”
